Hope to Heal Lyme was founded with a deep and moving passion to find HOPE and treatment options on how to recover from Lyme disease. Hope to Heal Lyme’s mission is to create and manage patient-oriented Lyme disease conferences. These patient conferences are organized to present information from lyme literate physicians on how to treat and heal the body while battling lyme.

Hope to Heal Lyme, Inc. is a grassroots effort solely run by Charlotte (Char) Healy, a lyme disease survivor and advocate. She also founded the Western Loudoun Lyme Disease Support Group in Purcellville, VA. This support group meets on the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm at St. Peters Church on Glendale Street. Everyone is welcome! Also, there are 3 other wonderful support groups in the Northern Virginia area; Dr. Sarah Fletcher's group meets in her office in Sterling, VA on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm, the National Capital Lyme Disease Association meets the first Sunday of every month at Sibley Hospital at 2:00 pm, and the Fairfax branch of NatCapLyme the second Thursday of the month at Oakton library in Oakton, VA. There is also a new group forming in Warrenton, VA, email us for more details.

Charlotte was misdiagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue and other escalating health problems over the course of six years. In January of 2004, she became seriously ill. Fortunately, on March 27, 2004, Dr. John Hart of Ashburn, VA correctly diagnosed her with Chronic Lyme Disease. Many months later, she was also diagnosed with Babesia. After 18 months on antibiotics such as IV Rocephin and other antibiotic combination therapies, coupled with the best of alternative medicine such as reiki, acupuncture, chinese herbs, massage therapy, infrared lamp sauna therapy and tailored nutritional supplements, Charlotte is now doing very well.

Prior to lyme disease, Charlotte's professional background was in conference planning, training, and human resources management. Now, as a lyme patient advocate, she continues to strive to bring together lyme literate physicians and practitioners with those who are struggling with lyme disease.
